I have a friend that had a difficult childbirth. Everything was normal when she went in, but when she went in to have the baby her water didn't break. The baby's heart rate started to drop and they had to do a C-Section. After she went home she bled a lot. She bled so much until she passed out. When the ambulance came she was sitting in a puddle of blood. She ended up having to have 2 blood transfusions. Then she was sent home again. This time she started bleeding again. Her lung ended up being punctured and she had 6 more transfusions. They also punctured her lung. I chose this story to express the turmoil a woman can endure when they are having a baby. It is a beautiful experience, but the body has to endure a lot. I was reading about the birthing process in the Netherlands. They strongly believe in midwife births, and if you go to the hospital you more than likely won't get an epidural. They said it depends on the anesthesiologist's schedule. If he isn't available you won't get one. In our country we depend more on hospital delivery and most women get the epidural because the doctor is always available.
I enjoyed reading your post. I sorry to hear that you fried had to end up having a C-section. But at least he baby was healthy. My water would not break with my 3rd child but the doctor broke it for me and I still had a natural birth.
I'm too terribly sorry about what happened to your friend. I hope she is fine! Sometimes it's necessary to be lucky about the doctor and the hospital. In my story, we didn't waste time because my doctor gave me so much information about my pregnancy, and he saving me the easiest way.
Dorothy my mom went through something like this when she had my little brother, she almost hemorrhage to death. She was rushed to the hospital, I'm not sure what all they did because she doesn't talk about it. Childbirth can be easy or hard and can vary with each birth.
