1. United Nations Children's Fund- I love that this organization fights for children's rights. They fight for equity, inclusion, violence prevention and so much more. A position I thought was interesting was the HIV/AIDS Specialist position. I do not have the advanced degrees that it requires, but what interests me about this position is that they work with adolescents with the virus. This position works to ensure that the funds are appropriated where they need to be in order to support those individuals with the disease,
2. Save the Children- Just like UNCF, this organization works to help children grow up safe, educated and healthy. They work with areas that are poverty stricken and where the children are hardest to reach. Positions open are: Senior Specialist, Orphans and Vulnerable Children and Child Protection, Early Head Start Teacher - Aberdeen North Carolina (2021-2022 School Year) and Teacher II. I would qualify for the teacher positions because I would possess the requirements:
Minimum of an Associate or Baccalaureate degree in child development, early childhood education or a related degree with early childhood equivalent coursework equivalent to a major relating to early childhood education, with experience teaching preschool-age children.
Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills; great problem solving and time management skills. Ability to follow directions and take initiative.
Experience working with preschool-aged children.
Ability to work collaboratively with Assistant Teacher, other staff, parents and community partners in the provision of high-quality services to children and families.
3. OECD-This organization works to make policies to better families in social, economic and environmental challenges. There were no positions of interest for me. I like what the organization stands for though. They had a lot of policy positions such as economist, legal advisor, Deputy Head of Division, etc.
