If I was evacuating my homeland and taken to another country I would probably take these three items:
1. My family album
2. My handkerchief
3. A locket
I chose these three things because they mean a lot to me and my family. These are items that have been passed on through many generations. The albums hold pictures of my grandparents and great grandparents. The handkerchief belonged to my great great grandmother. She left it to her daughter and then it was passed down for keepsake. I hold them dear and near to my heart.

Dorothy, this was a great lesson in reflecting on what we hold dear to our heart. I enjoyed reading your post and can totally relate to your perspective. Cherishing your family and descendants is something I hold dear to my heart too.
