Reflection

When I reflect on the assignment, I have learned that my research topic on children and quality education is important because it shines light on the question of do children of lower income status suffer when it comes to education? There are places all over the world where children suffer because they cannot afford higher quality of education. How is this fair? If I conducted this research everyone would benefit. Especially the families with children of low-income households. They are the ones who suffer the most. This will also bring some awareness to the government system. My perception is that all education is not fair and it is definitely not equal.

Hi Dorothy,

I can not agree with you more that education, especially in preschool programs is not fair. There is not equity. There are only so many spots in Head Start, and our state funded programs. I respect your topic and feel that there is much truth behind your thoughts. I wish you luck in shining light on this important topic. Thank you for your commitment to children!

Hello,

Your post reminds me of when I went to Thailand to study abroad, during the trip I visited three types of schools a private, public, and a small village school. The children from each school had different learning opportunities and it was evident. Your research is vital in this field to enhance children's development, thank you for sharing it with us.

Hello Dorothy,

I love your post! Our topics are very similar. I have looking at how poverty affects the developing child. Children from low income families, from my research, do tend to somewhat suffer from it. I feel like these topics of research can be extremely important to find some strategies that will help eradicate this plague in our field. Thank you for sharing!
