Relationships are important to me because they help me to grow as a person. I learn from those around me. I think that they bring value into my life. Relationships foster new ways of thinking and also provides a sense of comfort when there is uncertainty. My relationships have really help me grow as a person. I do not think I would be where I am today if it weren’t for the people that I have crossed paths with in my life.
I have positive relationships with old high school friends, my former co-workers, the families of the children I take care of daily. I have relationships with friends that I have met at events and in college. I think that I meet someone new everywhere I go. We have those connections that seem to last a lifetime.
Each relationship, I take something different, my family teaches me value and are a constant reminder of my upbringing. My friends have taught me how to break out into something new even when I am too afraid to do it.
When there are a group of different people, challenges are going to happen. Things such as communication barriers. It is important to listen and be open-minded when listening to and responding to those you have a close relationship with. Being able to talk, laugh, listen and offer insight are some of the most important characteristics when building relationships. These things have taught me to be a better person and not judge.

Thank you for sharing your post on relationships. With each relationship, we receive the opportunity to learn more about your self and these relationships can truly add value to our life. It's nice to meet as well as network with a variety of people and learn new things. Do you attend professional developments and network with colleagues? I remember attending a special education training and networking. Later, I received the opportunity to work in the same department with someone that I received the opportunity to meet at a special education training. We established a nice professional relationship.

I really enjoyed reading your post. I, too, have friends from high school that I still connect with from time to time. Although I don't see them or talk to them for months on end, I take solace in the fact that we can still communicate with each other like time was never between us. Family is my key component when considering relationships. I love my son and my partner so much and will continue to progress with them through this life. Thanks for sharing!

It is nice to be in a group with you again. It was a pleasure reading your view on relationships. As you stated relationships can provide " a sense of comfort when there is uncertainty" And lately, there seems to be a lot of that. Hopefully these uncertain times will only strengthen people's relationships as we practice "social distancing" in attempts to alleviate the effects of the pandemic.
